I Kept My Green Aventurine in My Bag for a Year Before I Noticed Anything

A first-person, low-hype account of carrying green aventurine through a year of job interviews — and what actually changed.

Green Aventurine Tumbled Stones – Luck & Abundance Crystal | Natural Polished Gemstone

I bought my green aventurine before a job interview I was almost certain I'd bomb, mostly because a friend swore by hers and I was desperate enough to try anything. I didn't expect it to change the outcome. I mostly just wanted something to hold in the elevator.

It rode around in my bag, forgotten, for months

I didn't get that job, for what it's worth. The stone went into my bag's side pocket and stayed there, mostly forgotten, through a string of other interviews and a few opportunities I almost talked myself out of applying for.

The thing I actually noticed

It wasn't the stone landing me anything. It was that somewhere along the way, reaching into my bag and feeling it there became a small cue — a reminder that I'd shown up for this before, however it turned out, and I could do it again. Green aventurine is an emitter, associated with opportunity and heart-openness, and the honest version of my experience is that it worked less like luck and more like a pocket-sized nudge not to close myself off before something even had a chance to happen.

I'm not crediting it for anything

I got the role I have now after months of exactly this — showing up to things I expected to fail, stone in my bag, mostly unaware it was even there. I can't tell you it did the work. I can tell you it was there every time I almost didn't go.

Where it lives now

Still in my bag. I notice it more now than I used to, especially before anything that feels like a risk.

If you're about to talk yourself out of something, green aventurine is a quiet thing to carry into it anyway.
